Mission: STARRY's mission is to support children, youth and parents in crisis through services that protect, educate and promote strong families.
Description: STARRY, Inc. currently operates an Emergency Shelter Program in three cottages, having recently expanded the program from two cottages. The shelter cottages are located on the main campus of TBCH and serve children birth to 17 years old who have been removed from their homes by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (TDFPS) due to abuse and/or neglect. STARRY provides STAR crisis intervention services to Williamson and surrounding counties. Services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The program provides services to children and youth ages 0-17 and their families. Services include individual, family and group counseling, along with universal child abuse prevention services. Counseling is strength-based, solution-focused and short-term, 6 months.
Needs: Children At Heart Ministries counts on friends, volunteers, donors and other supporters to help it meet the needs of children and families in care at Gracewood in Houston, Miracle Farm in Brenham, and STARRY and Texas Baptist Children's Home in Round Rock. There are many ways you can help by giving your time as a volunteer, helping provide items on ministry Needs Lists and making a financial contribution.
