Mission: Bethany House of Friends is a respite ministry for caregivers of individuals with dementia offering prayer and support. Individuals with Alzheimer's are provided a safe environment at Bethany United Methodist Church including spiritual, social, emotional, and intellectual activities free of charge.
Description: Bethany House of Friends is a respite ministry for caregivers of individuals with dementia offering prayer, resources, training, and support groups regularly. Individuals with Alzheimer's are provided a safe environment at Bethany United Methodist Church including spiritual, social, emotional, and intellectual activities free of charge. Trained volunteers offer care and compassion to participants. Goals of House Of Friends: 1. Provide activities that engage participants physically, intellectually, emotionally, socially, and spiritually in a safe environment. 2. Provide respite for caregivers of people with dementia. 3. Provide a meaningful experience to the volunteers so they may offer good support to those with dementia and offer love and companionship to older adults.
Needs: House of Friends is looking for volunteers and participants. The number of participants that can be added are dependent upon the number of companion volunteers. As the number of volunteers increases the number of participants will be added incrementally. The minimum requirement is one companion volunteer for each participant.
